CORNWALL HONEY SPICE MORNING CAKE - JAN 1, 2023

For my first Poldark recipe I chose the morning cake for two reasons.  1) after the holidays, I'm tired of cooking and 2) I happened to have all the ingredients in stock!  If you watched the series, you would have seen Aunt Agatha munching away on such a delicacy as this morning cake.  Honey spice cake was a popular breakfast at Trenwith, the Poldark manor house.  Besides being a popular morning dish, this cake would also be served to guests who visited in the afternoon along with brandy or port.
